February 27 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Join us for the first PiP Meetup of 2020!

PiP meetups provide you with the chance to connect with other PiP members and learn from a guest speaker in a friendly informal setting.

Meetup theme: Whole of setting approach to primary prevention
When: Thursday 27 February, 2.00pm-4.00pm
Where: The Cluster, Level 20/31 Queen St Melbourne (short walk from Southern Cross and Flinders St stations)
Cost: FREE

At this meetup we will hear from Joanna Brislane, Manager – Practice Leadership at Our Watch. Jo will talk about the various challenges and learnings of developing and implementing a whole of setting approach to primary prevention. Drawing on practice learnings from her work supporting respectful relationships education in schools, developing the Workplace Equality and Respect standards, and working with universities, Jo will discuss:

  • Key factors to consider when planning and implementing a whole of setting approach to preventing violence against women
  • Strategies to overcome resistance and drive institutional change
  • Key enablers and barriers to prevention work
  • Our Watch’s approach to addressing the overlapping drivers of violence against women and LGBTIQ people.

This meetup will give you great ideas for the design, implementation and evaluation of primary prevention initiatives in any setting.

There’ll be time for discussion with Jo and other PiP members over tasty snacks!
