Regional Schools Family Violence Project – Project Report

The Regional Schools Family Violence Project has been a two year initiative of Barwon South West Integrated Family Violence (BSW IFV) and Community Connections (Vic Ltd) finishing in June 2011. The project was developed to address a BSW IFV priority to ‘focus on children and young people’ with a particular emphasis on prevention of family violence in future generations.

The Regional Schools Family Violence Project intended to work with schools and school-related organisations to promote prevention activities and to raise awareness of how family violence impacts on women, children and young people. Project partners have represented a diverse range of agencies and communities from across the Barwon South West region.

The Project Officer Madeleine Kempster has written this final Project Report detailing the development of the Regional Schools Family Violence Project, the project achievements and recommendations. Most important is the highlighting of project learning within this report that may inform future youth-focused prevention work in Victoria.
